The Mayor of Umm Al-Rasas, Mr. Adel Al-Janadbah, along with the delegation representing the Umm Al-Rasas district, received an official delegation from the municipality of Ravenna, Italy. The visit aimed to strengthen cultural cooperation and exchange expertise in the fields of heritage and local tourism.

The visit program included two main parts. The first part featured a presentation introducing the functions of the Umm Al-Rasas Municipality, its developmental and service-oriented role within the district, and the efforts made by the municipality to serve the local community and enhance infrastructure.

The second part included a field tour of the archaeological site of Umm Al-Rasas, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The delegation was briefed on the site’s most prominent archaeological and mosaic landmarks and its unique historical and touristic value.

During the meeting, the visiting delegation presented a souvenir to the Mayor of Umm Al-Rasas that symbolizes the identity of the Italian city of Ravenna. The gesture reflected the cultural connection between the two cities, both known for their rich civilizational heritage especially in the art of mosaics, which stands as a hallmark in each city’s history.

In return, the delegation from Umm Al-Rasas, represented by Mayor Adel Al-Janadbah, presented the visiting delegation with an artistic mosaic plaque as a commemorative gift to the Mayor of Ravenna. The piece embodies the heritage identity of Umm Al-Rasas and highlights the region’s artisanal skill and craftsmanship in this historic art form.
